Job Description:\n\nJob Description: Server\nShift: 2nd Shift, 2-10PM\nReports to: Restaurant Manager\nJob Summary: The Server will take orders and serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly, efficient manner while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The Server must ensure that the customers feel welcome, comfortable, and well attended to at all times.\nJob Duties:\n\n· Greet customers in a friendly manner.\n\n· Present menus to customers, inform them of daily specials, and suggest appetizers.\n\n· Explain how various menu items are prepared, answer any customer questions.\n\n· Take orders from patrons for food or beverages.\n\n· Enter food and drink orders into computer system for transmittal to kitchen staff.\n\n· Double check food for accuracy and temperature before serving to customer.\n\n· Serve food and drinks to customers in a timely manner.\n\n· Check with customers periodically during to refill drinks, inquire about satisfaction, and take any actions necessary to correct problems.\n\n· Pre-bus tables.\n\n· Offer dessert to customers during lunch/dinner time.\n\n· Remove dishes and glasses from tables/counter.\n\n· Prepare checks and present to customers.\n\n· Collect payment from customer and make change in accordance with policies and procedures.\n\n· Clean tables/counter after patrons have finished dining.\n\n· Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, cold dishes, portioning desserts, and brewing coffee/tea.\n\n· Stock service area with supplies such as condiments, silverware, etc.\n\n· Fill salt, pepper, condiments, napkin containers, etc.\n\n· Assist in keeping the restaurant clean and safe.\n\n· Perform side duties as required and other duties as requested.\n\n· Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement\nQualification and Skills:\n\n· ServSafe Certification.\n\n· Must be friendly and customer focused.\n\n· Must have clear written and verbal communication skills.\n\n· Ability to comprehend and communicate in fluent English.\n\n· Must have the physical ability to carry out the functions of the job description.\n\n· Must be able to responsibly handle cash transactions.\n\n· Must be able to consolidate and coordinate needs for all tables.\n\n· Must be able to carry food and beverages.\n\n· Must be able to work in a team environment.\n\n· Must be able to handle stressful situations and maintain composure.\n\n· Previous server experience preferred.\n\n· High school diploma or GED preferred.\nUniform and Appearance Requirements:\n\n· Black non-slip shoes, must say non-slip on shoe\n\n· Socks must be worn\n\n· Clean denim pants\n\n· Clean OMG t-shirt\n\n· Hair must be clean, neat, and secure\n\n· Nametag must be worn\n\n· Deodorant must be worn and a high level of personal hygiene maintained\nOther Duties:\n\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
